Best Scuba Diving Destinations & Activities in Fiji

The Fiji Islands (sometimes mis-spelt as Figi or Feejee Islands) consists of some 300 islands, many of which are uninhabited. There are 3 main islands: Viti Levu, "The Main Island" where Nadi (said Nan-dee) International airport is located, Vanua Levu, the home of Savusavu which is known as "The Hidden Paradise", one of the best scuba diving destinations, and Taveuni, "The Garden Island". KoroSun Dive is located on Vanua Levu at Savasi Island Resort, just 6 km's from Savusavu airport and 9 km's from Savusavu township.

With our dive shop being a scenic 9 km's from the town of Savusavu we offer free return xfers from town to the KoroSun Dive dive shop at Savsai Island Resort.  E-mail us your accommodation details or on arrival just give us a call on +679 934 1033 to work out your diving desires.

From the USA there are direct flights from LAX to Nadi (approximately 10 hours), arriving early in the morning. From the East Coast of Australia  and from New Zealand the flight time to Nadi is a little more than 3 hours, however, some flights may arrive too late in the afternoon for a domestic connection to Savusavu, therefore requiring a stay in Nadi overnight. Feel free to ask us for recommendations for accommodation in Nadi to fit any budget.

N.B. Booking the international and domestic flights on one ticket allows you 23 kilos of luggage for both domestic and international flights. If you book as 2 tickets - international to Nadi then domestic (Nadi -Savusavu or Labasa) you are only allowed 15 kilos of luggage. Excess baggage is expensive! Good thing we included all dive gear in our pricing. :-)

You can fly direct to Savusavu, or more cheaply, come via Labasa (which is a scenic 1.5 hour taxi ride to Savusavu and costs around $100 FJD maximum). The flight providers are; Northern AirPacifc Sun (now called Fiji Link) a subsidiary of Fiji Airways the national carrier of Fiji, or Island Hoppers. Or if you'd like to set your own schedule you book use a sea plane through Pacific Island Air & Seaplanes or a helicopter through either Island Hoppers or HeliPro.

Alternately, budget travellers may wish to fly into Nausori or take a bus to Suva from Nadi and catch one of the inter-island ferries between Suva and Savusavu with Venu Shipping ph 3395000 or with Goundar Shipping Services who may be contacted by email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or by phone on +679 3301035 or Patterson Brothers Shipping which leaves from Suva and gets to Savusavu via Nabouwalu ph 3315644. Bligh Water Shipping has irregular trips to Labasa/Savusavu from Lautoka.

Once you arrive in Savusavu a snorkeller's or diver's dream awaits you, no matter whether you are doing a PADI diving course, are already certified or merely snorkelling the water's surface. Then when not diving either relax in the lush local environment of your Fiji holiday accommodation, soaking up the warmth and sun, or venture out and about to experience sight, sound and taste sensations. You can do as much or as little as you like.....Whatever activities in Fiji you choose to do, you'll enjoy the hospitality of some of the friendliest people in the world!
